TAMU Clinical Psychology
The Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program at Texas A&M University offers a blend of both the clinical-scientist and scientist-practitioner model. This program allows for graduates to have the foundation to pursue a career as a strong clinical scientist in either academia or a research setting. The completion of this program will take five years, with the last year being a clinical internship. Students have the opportunity to become involved in faculty-led research teams, which gives them opportunities to develop research questions, design studies, collect and analyze data, write manuscripts, and present findings at regional and nationals conferences. Students also acquire clinical skills of assessment and intervention. All students serve as therapists for children, adolescents, and adults for clients of our Department Clinic. Our students become highly competitive for premier pre-doctoral internships nationally, and the majority of our graduates from this program pursue research positions in academia and clinical training and administrative positions in medical centers or community agencies. The Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program at Texas A&M University is not intended for individuals who wish to pursue careers in primarily independent clinical practice. Learn more here.
